Uzbekistan’s athletes triumph with two gold medals on the inaugural day of the 3rd Asian Youth Games

ТASHKENT, October 20. /Dunyo IA/. The 3rd Asian Youth Games are currently taking place in Manama, the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the opening day of competitions proved successful for the country’s athletes.
More specifically, Uzbek athletes Otabek Yuldoshev and Durdona Tursunova claimed gold medals in their respective weight categories in Kurash competitions.
In the finals, Durdona Tursunova confidently defeated her opponent from the Kyrgyz Republic, while Otabek Yuldoshev triumphed over his Iranian rival.
At the conclusion of the opening day of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, the Uzbekistan delegation emerged at the top of the overall medal standings, securing two gold medals. Athletes from the Islamic Republic of Iran followed in second place with one silver and one bronze, while Kyrgyzstan claimed third position with a single silver medal.
Today, Uzbek athletes are scheduled to compete in volleyball, handball, Kurash, and Pencak Silat, continuing their pursuit of further victories across multiple disciplines.
